Frequently Asked Questions

When will Clarus HR launch?

Clarus HR is in Early Access. Partners are being onboarded now. Join the waitlist for an invitation when your tier opens up, or book a demo to discuss expedited access.

How is per-employee billing calculated?

Active employees on the last day of the billing month, excluding terminated and alumni. The platform tracks lifecycle stage; we count active and on-leave.

What about contractors and 1099 workers?

Counted at half rate. They go through the same onboarding lifecycle and consume the same audit and automation surface; we just bill them at 0.5x.

Annual or monthly?

Both. Annual is paid upfront and saves 15%. Monthly is invoiced in arrears with net-30 terms.

Migration off another HRIS?

Clarus HR imports from Workday, BambooHR, Rippling, ADP, Paylocity, UKG, and SuccessFactors via the connectors framework. The first import is included in implementation; ongoing two-way sync is per-connection.

Do I need Clarus CLM to use Clarus HR?

No. Clarus HR works on its own. If you also use Clarus CLM, offer letters, employment agreements, and handbooks flow through the clause-extraction engine for richer onboarding intelligence.

How do you handle PII?

SSN, DOB, bank, immigration docs, medical, and investigation notes are encrypted at rest with envelope encryption (per-tenant DEKs). Field-level access is logged separately as a chain of custody. See the Security page.
